How long should car paint dry before driving?

Once the blending step is completed, it is safe to drive the car. Rain and even a quick hand wipe of the panel with a quick detail product will not impact the dr. Colorchip repairs. Paint manufacturers will typically tell you that automotive paint needs 30 days to fully cure. They do recommend allowing the paint this 30-day cure time before doing any aggressive compounding with a rotary buffer or application of a ceramic coating.

How to build chip fill with additional paint layers?

If repairing a deep paint chip, you may find that the level of fill after one application remains slightly below the surface of your vehicle’s original paint. However, you can apply additional layers of their factory-matched car paint to build up the chip fill. Simply repeat the steps above until desired fill is achieved. Allow two hours between paint applications to give each layer time to harden and cure.

How to check order status and tracking shipment?

Once they have created the shipping label for your order, you will receive an email with the tracking number (usps or ups) use this tracking number to follow your shipment. When you receive the shipment notification, it does not mean your package has shipped. It simply is confirmation that a shipping label has been created and your order has been put into production for the paint to be formulated and packaged.  On average it will still take 2-3 business days to ship from receipt of this shipping notice, unless of course you have chosen an expedited shipping option. Remember, they still have to custom make your kit and test it to make sure it is a good color match prior to shipping. If you choose usps to deliver your package, please allow for 10 business days to receive your kit. If you have not received your package within 10 business days contact them and they will assist in helping trace the package. On occasion their customers will try tracking the shipment only to find that the usps does not show an update in their system on the package.
